I'm Kellan Pfaff. I live in Minnesota, where I write software, design games, and compose music.
As a kid, I fell in love with J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings". For me, it really opened up my imagination and gave me a whole new hunger for new worlds and the stories that exist in them.
Whatever the medium, whether book or song, poem or movie, I was hooked. Years after, I discovered video games, which inspired me on a whole new level - games like Riven, (a part of the Myst series), Tomb Raider II, and Warcraft II. Absolutely fantastic games that set me on the path.
I started writing software in high school, and I haven't stopped since. I love the process of creating something from nothing, and the way that software can be a tool for the creativity. I'm always looking for new ways to push the boundaries of what I can create, and I'm excited to see where my journey takes me next.
In my most recent project, I've created a live multiplayer web party game called 'Prickly Beast Cuddle'. It's a game where players respond to prompts with word tiles from their hand, while a judge chooses the best response. It's a game that I'm really proud of, and I hope that it brings joy to everyone who plays it!
I am currently looking to continue my role as a (frontend-leaning) full-stack software engineer, so if you would like me on your team, please feel free to reach out!
